Sunday Un-Funnies

comic strip The recent Guardian article on US journalist Seymour Hersh, who has turned 69, makes for interesting reading. Hersh is the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter who exposed the Iraqi abuse scandal in Abu Ghraib, reminding us that democracy without investigative journalism is just one small step from dictatorship.

comic strip With every bright light comes the shadows - the dark edges ignored, even tolerated, for joy of illumination. .com's brightness is blinding to a new generation of bloggers and marketers, but there are a lot of shadows lurking: some peripheral, and others nearer the corona. "Combing the Shadows of MySpace" by Jason Lee Miller

comic strip America is a country that is being guided by Bush's Bible in certain issues, namely homosexuality. However, US politics should not be selective. If it's good enough to use against the sodomite, then surely it should be good enough to follow in regard to the immigrant, Senator?

Take note from the good book:

"When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him.
The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born.
Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt.
I am the Lord your God." - Leviticus 19:33-34
