A Busy Weekend for Tarkan
Turkish pop star Tarkan looks set to have a busy time this weekend, with newspapers reporting his eagerly anticipated shows at two Turkish gigs on Saturday and Sunday.
After media portal Haberturk's entertainment portal H2 published an article by Yusuf Çınar detailing the star's preparations to appear at the 20th Çeşme International Water Sports Festivities and Music Festival, its main site has now run an article about a following live gig in the Black Sea region.
The article prints that 2009 Eurovision entrant for Turkey Belgian-born Hadise will open the 16th International Love, Peace and Friendship Festival, while Tarkan will headline at the event's final night set for Sunday, 5 July.
According to other reports, before Tarkan's appearance at the festival the mayor of region is planning a surprise trip to a naval museum for the artist.
Reportedly the mayor will present the singer with a photograph of Tarkan's great-grandfather, Ali Dursun, who was second-in-command of an illustrious ship from Turkish wartime history.
