  1. The UK election campaign has only just begun and, according to a poll, 43% of people are already bored by it.

  5. The forecast size of the UK's economy next year is approximately £1,500bn, while political parties are arguing over £6bn in tax for May's election campaign.

  7. Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of punk group the Sex Pistols, has died in Switzerland aged 64.

  9. Scientists have found the first animals that can survive and reproduce entirely without oxygen, deep on the floor of the Mediterranean Sea.
