Tarkan to Heat Up the Harbiye
The much-loved pop star's Facebook status officially confirms previous rumours about a run of Harbiye shows for late August and early September.
Speculations over the pop star's scheduled shows at the Harbiye this year were doing the rounds weeks before the pop star confirmed the reports today.
It was leaked last month that Tarkan had signed a deal believed to be worth 3.6 million for a series of end of summer shows at the Harbiye open air arena in Istanbul, with Tarkan moving a cancelled charity gig from Izmir to the historic venue.
Organised by Kirli Kedi Atlantis Productions this year, those wishing to see the pop maestro's famed open air shows will also be happy to note that their tickets will be contributing to not one but two worthy causes when they book seats on 2 and 4 September.
Proceeds from the Harbiye show on 2 September will be going towards a centre for people with special needs in Eyüp, a municipality and district of the city of Istanbul, while the 4 September show is set to replace the previously cancelled charity gig for a nature school being built in Izmir.
The caring celebrity had been due to give a show on 5 June to raise funds for a nature school being built in Izmir in conjunction with nature association Doğa and local public officials, but had cancelled due to the Gezi Park protests.
This development confirms claims posted by Murat Yılmaz at Muzikoloji.co last month that the benefit concert's venue would be moved to the Harbiye, while other reports about the Harbiye concerts describe the pop artist's multi-million concert deal at the open air arena in Istanbul as a 9 show agreement.
At this time, tickets have gone on sale at Biletix for 4 shows at the Harbiye venue for the coming months (click on concert poster below for booking details) - in addition to another rescheduled concert in the country's capital city of Ankara.
