  1. Snow and ice has gripped parts of the UK as a cold snap dubbed the "mini beast from the east" sweeps in. It comes after a cold spell nicknamed "the Beast from the East" saw much of the UK and Europe blanketed in snow at the start the month.
  2. A clean-up campaign has begun at Mount Everest, aiming to airlift 100 tonnes of rubbish left behind by tourists and climbers of the world's highest mountain.
  3. Entrepreneur Kristina Roth has created SuperShe Island, a private retreat off the coast of Finland where no men are allowed.
  4. A group of residents from the Indian Ocean French island of Mayotte has been rounding up suspected illegal migrants and taking them to local police.

  8. Russia is to expel 23 British diplomats in a row over the nerve agent attack on an-ex spy and his daughter in the UK. It would also close the British Council in Russia, which promotes cultural ties between the nations, and the British Consulate in St Petersburg.
  9. Millie Dunn Veasey joined the US military in 1942 to serve in the only all-female, all-black unit in World War Two, before playing a leading role in the civil rights movement. She died on 9 March, a little more than a month after her 100th birthday.
  10. Men with low sperm counts are more likely to have a number of health issues that put them at increased risk of illness, new research suggests.
