Tarkan in the Timeless City

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Harbiye AcikhavaTarkan opened a series of Avea sponsored Istanbul Open Air Concerts for various artists, at the Harbiye Open Air Theatre (see pic).

Back on his music's home turf from a break in his summer Avea Turkish Tour, Tarkan wowed fans yesterday evening at a tightly packed theatre.

Appearing at an historical outdoor auditorium, Tarkan opened with his 2001 song "Kuzu Kuzu". However, the 'surprise' of the evening was a collection of seven Turkish classical songs in the second part of his stage show, among his usual repertoire of Turkish pop and latest English hits.

Set in a more intimate setting, he ended the spectacular event with his usual encore of "Gülümse Kaderinde" from his 2003 EP Dudu.

Due to high demand the singer will appear two more nights, on the 8 and 9 August.
