First Magazine Report and Calendar for 2008

A quality Turkish language blog that centres on following Tarkan news stories in the domestic press, alongside the culture of music in the media, TarkanPLUS has published news of Tarkan's first major magazine report of the year, and a limited 2008 Tarkan calender on sale at D&R stores throughout Turkey.

UPDATE: TarkanPLUS re-opens >>

For those who can read Turkish, Tarkan Deluxe recommends TarkanPLUS as the first place to catch Tarkan in the Turkish media. It has been a valuable aid to Tarkan Deluxe's own Adelind Osmanlı in preparing news bulletins about the artist.

Starting it's life in 2006, TarkanPLUS is run by a Turkish media analyst working in Istanbul, Turkey.

Tarkan in TRT Magazine's January Edition

Tarkan in TRT MagazineTarkan's first magazine interview of 2008 has come from state broadcaster TRT's own magazine publication. The TRT report with the artist has been covered by Turkish papers Hürriyet and Star Gazete.

Hürriyet published the report as a list of Tarkan's "Mosts", by printing verbatim from the interview a list of the artist's preferences, while under the headline "A Star's Journal", Star Gazete summarises the TRT report in detail.

You can read the English translations of the paper excerpts here.

First released in November 1987, the TRT magazine is issued monthly, but not distributed for sale in shops.

Tarkan 2008 Calendar (Limited Editions)

A limited 2008 Tarkan calender on sale at Turkish D&R storesThe online site for Turkish D&R stores has released information about a limited stock of Tarkan calendars that have gone on sale in their shops across the country.

Since 2000, there have been three "official" Tarkan calendars. A 2000 edition printed in Europe by Danilo (in Turkish, German and English), and two Turkish calendars for the years 2002 and 2006. The two Turkish ones were not available for retail, but were promotions for phone companies Turkcell and Avea respectively. The 2002 Turkcell-Hazır Kart calendar pictures are posted at the photoblog Tarkan Visual.

UPDATE: You can view the 2008 calendar photos at Tarkan Deluxe's sister photoblog Tarkan Visual.
