More Tarkan Turkish Media Updates

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

In another round-up of news articles relating to Tarkan in recent days, Turkish newspaper Yeni Asir has published an interview with Erol Yaraş, the man behind the rejuvenation of the Çeşme International Water Sports Festivities and Music Festival and the main controller at Ege TV, one of the festival's main sponsors.

The report confirms the news reported a few weeks ago that Tarkan will be appearing at the annual festival's 20th outing, with the star slated to close off the event on the 4 July with what is being heralded as a spectacular live show.

Meanwhile, as reported yesterday, Tarkan is still on schedule to give a concert today on the land site of friend and developer Ali Ağaoğlu's My Towerland project, in a summer festivity planned to promote the scheduled construction of Ağaoğlu's latest residential project in Istanbul.

Elsewhere, regarding other Tarkan summer appearances, media speculations about Tarkan's appearance for the 16th International Love, Peace and Friendship Festival in Karadeniz Ereğli, Turkey (3-5 July) have yet to be confirmed, but some news agencies have reported Tarkan will be in the festival's line up this year to close off on 5 July.

And finally, Billboard's weekly look at the Turkish charts reports (see left pic) that Tarkan signed act Emir - which some commentators have criticised for closely resembling Tarkan - has entered straight in at 22nd place with Tarkan's song "Ben Sen Olamam" (I Can't Be You).
