Eurovision Rumours Denied

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

ScreencapSince published rumours reported that Turkish popstar Tarkan had agreed in principle with Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) to represent Turkey in 2010's Eurovision Song Contest, denials have been quick to come from Tarkan's camp.

Turkish news channels are now reporting that director of Tarkan's music company HITT, Sevtap Küçükkaralar, has been quoted as denying claims Tarkan has been in talks to go to Norway for 2010's contest (pictured left).

"This news is completely wrong. It's true we were offered to go last year, but no such invitation was made this year. Even if it was we wouldn't consider it," she is quoted to have said.

Turkey came fourth last year with the song "Dum Tek Tek" by Hadise, and has finished in the top ten of the competition in five of the last seven years, including picking up its only victory in 2003 with "Every Way That I Can" by Sertab Erener.
