Open Air Tarkan Surprise

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Tarkan and Ajda PekkanTurkish paper Hürriyet reports a surprise visit by Tarkan to Turkish pop diva Ajda Pekkan's open air concert on 20 August, back at the Harbiye last Thursday by popular demand to close this year's 5th season of Avea's Open Air Concerts.

The article details that the audience first heard Tarkan's voice accompany diva Pekkan's to her 1973 classic hit "Kimler Geldi Kimler Geçti" (All Those Come and Gone) raising screams from the crowd.

With Tarkan off stage, it was at first thought Tarkan's voice was a recording, but when the famous popstar took to the stage, the screams reportedly doubled. Upon Tarkan's entrance, Pekkan is quoted to have said, "Now this is what I call a surprise!"

Explaining that he had come to briefly visit Turkey's superstar, the two top pop performers sang three songs together, including Tarkan's own classic hit "Şıkıdım" (A-acayipsin, 1994), with Tarkan changing the words to sing, "Oh superstar Ajda you're something else!"
