Tarkan Questions in the Press

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Screencap of reportsTwo reports in Turkish paper Sabah mention Tarkan, with the first involving an interview with popular Turkish radio DJ Ayhan Güngör, while the second is from the column of Sabah entertainment columnist Şengül Balıksırtı (see left pic).

Similar to Hürriyet variety correspondent Cengiz Semercioğlu's recent post, female variety writer for Sabah Balıksırtı - and a faithful member of the anti-Tarkan lobby in the press - wonders what the latest is in the Tarkan drug investigation.

"What's up with Tarkan's situation? Is the justice report on his blood and urine samples true? His lawyer is saying that no sample or test was taken. Our minds are really confused. Doesn't anyone have a clear answer?" she asks.

Meanwhile, radio DJ Güngör mentions Tarkan in response to a question about the type of music he plays on his show.

"I don't discriminate. I play whatever is popular on that day. This could be generic music from a TV show or ... it could be Tarkan. As long as the song is popular. I look at digital sales, as I think that reflects popular opinion best," he says.
