Tarkan's 2010 Album Postponed

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Excerpts of tweets between music producers Samsun Demir and Ozan ColakogluThe public tweets between Turkish music label DMC rep Samsun Demir and long-time Tarkan producer Ozan Çolakoğlu reveal that Tarkan's 2010 record has been postponed about a week or so, even though the final mixes had been completed.

Confirmed separately by another tweet from singer/producer Mustafa Ceceli, who had also worked on Tarkan's 2010 album, Demir says he thinks it will be released before 20 June, while Çolakoğlu tweets "mid-June".

Previously the album had been set to be released in the coming two weeks - towards the end of May or first days of June.

Reasons for the postponement have not been publicly forthcoming, and contacts from official sources tell Tarkan Deluxe they are not allowed to speak officially on this matter yet.

However, off the record, it has been intimated that Tarkan has decided to take some songs off the album at the eleventh hour, putting a strain on all involved in the project.

This unsubstantiated rumour is backed up somewhat by the tweets between Demir and Çolakoğlu, where Çolakoğlu complains with a smiley "that even (US drama series) Lost has ended", to which Demir asks if "everything is good?"

"Super," came back the reply.
