Tarkan Punches Wall in Anger?

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Screencap of reportMyNet web portal has published an article online by weekly celebrity magazine Hafta Sonu that claims Tarkan got so mad about recent talk of him on a TV show he punched the walls in his home in anger.

Turkish TV joker Okan Bayülgen - who has made trash TV his lifetime achievement and enjoys to take digs at Tarkan during his shows - had called Tarkan's latest track "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike") "Altın Vuruş" ("Gold Strike") before correcting his mistake on a recent show, which caused laughter amongst some of the guests in the studio.

Some reports had suggested Bayülgen did this on purpose to send up Tarkan's time in custody following an anti-drug sting, as "altın vuruş" has come to mean a slang phrase for a lethal overdose of cocaine in Turkish.

Tarkan: "It's Plain Rude"

The Turkish megastar had been watching the programme that evening, and got very angry upon hearing Bayülgen's joke, so much so that he punched the walls and had to be calmed down by close friends, the article claims.

"What are they trying to do? They see themselves as judge, jury and executioner. Who gives them the right? It's wrong, and just plain rude!" Tarkan is quoted as saying, while the report adds that the singer took the decision not to watch the TV stations for some time.
