Drawing on Tarkan
In MTM's monthly report, Tarkan has just made it into the bottom top twenty of the most reported celebrities for March 2019. Higher up in current interest is Turkish comedian Cem Yılmaz, whose latest sold-out stand-up show played out in Northern Cyprus.
The comedian's tour attracted news coverage that notes the main brunt of Yılmaz's jokes during his routine were, amongst others, of his friend Tarkan.
"I'd like Tarkan to be the president of the world, but some of his songs and his life don't gel together... In one song ("Yolla"/10, 2017) our agony uncle says he is "the father of all misery"... I mean, seriously? What's he got to be miserable about?" Yılmaz joked to his audience. (2 April)

And an article for university students in Turkish daily Hürriyet supplement Kampus suggests students listen to Nineties pop songs to unwind during examination time.
Naturally, when Nineties Turkish pop is the subject, Tarkan gets a mention and a place on the playlist. (1 April)
Tarkan Uploads Remixes
It was initially released by streaming site fizy on 3 April 2018, as part of a sponsorship deal. It is a fan favourite and has garnered critical acclaim.
This was the second remix track dropped by fizy in its Tarkan 10 series. As a new year surprise for fans, a "Pop Orient Mix" of his summer hit "Yolla" was released exclusively on the streaming site.
Tarkan's channel uploaded this remix a year later, too.
