London Bombings

First New York, Bali, Istanbul, Madrid and now London.

While yesterday brought the Olympic Games to London after a cliffhanger vote in Singapore, today saw terrorism rock the capital city 8,000 miles away.

A series of explosions has ripped across central London, killing at least 37 people and injuring many hundreds more.

In what appears to have been a co-ordinated terrorist attack, there were blasts on three Underground trains and a bus, as the morning rush hour drew to a close.

London, a city that has survived the bombings of a World War and the threat of the IRA , now has to face its worst terrorist attack ever.

This is a time when the worst situation must bring out the best in people. I have a strong faith in the British public and they have never let me down.

I have but one hope, that this co-ordinated terrorist attack is met with anger, but not the type of anger that stems from hatred, but anger which makes people resolute and determined.

Even if unconnected, I hope that this flows over to the results that will come out of the G8 summit, and that those leaders will do what is right in the hope that others will follow.
