Lost in Translation

Important news making the headlines through the week includes Australia's most senior Muslim cleric describing unveiled women as "uncovered meat", a Nazi home movie found in a British church and youths in the Paris suburbs attacking two buses on the eve of the first anniversary of rioting among immigrant communities.

France, who has an appalling record with its largely African and North African minorities, has seen a dissatisfied march to the National Assembly in Paris on Wednesday to present a list of complaints to the government.

A result of poor race relations, demonstrators called for more action to tackle discrimination and more jobs and training for the young.

More protests in Europe recently, this time ahead of the European Union-Eta debate and in news reports that there was police brutality towards protesters during clashes in Hungary's capital on Monday.

And finally, advanced technology might make humans bilingual, and one of the world's most famous food festivals is trying to promote not only good taste, but peace.
