Nightingale's Song
perches on your tenacious branches,
devotion and ecstasy resonances
expand the timbre of its song,
singing to you of intoxication,
of the drinking of a wine
that burns signals
to a mystical state,
filling your cup
until it overflows.
it is birdsong full
of the capacity of madness,
of freedom and spirit,
yet you remain a
stimulus for silence;
your eyes the only guide
for mystic poets,
marrying metaphor
to ambiguous symbols
analogous with God,
signifying love and death.
