Lights, Camera, Action!

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

At the number one slot for the third week at MTV Türkiye's video play list, Tarkan's scheduled TV appearance on the music channel is still being promoted, while there's a rumour in the Turkish press that there might be plans for Tarkan to go in front of the cameras for totally different reasons, too.

Turkish media blog TarkanPLUS has been blogging about the hotly anticipated upcoming MTV event, as it will be one of the few times Tarkan has appeared on Turkish TV. The artist rarely guests on Turkish entertainment shows, even though one show in particular has recently been campaigning to get him on the box.

No date has yet been published for the airing of the show, though it is believed it will include an interview and live performances with the pop icon.

Hollywood deal in the works for Tarkan?Meanwhile, writing for Vatan newspaper, Gülden Avuç claims that Tarkan is currently in Hollywood in talks to star in a role as a pop star for a project that has yet to be green lighted.

Although no source is given for the claims, the article states that the pop icon has been receiving acting lessons for the part in the film. If the project goes ahead, this will be the artist's first film role.

The Turkish papers had previously reported that Tarkan was in Germany. It had been scheduled for Tarkan to make an appearance at the CeBIT fair in Hanover for TrekStor last Saturday. However, the artist failed to show up at the last minute, citing sickness.
