Industry Awards Update [2]
As previously reported, the award ceremony for music society MÜ-YAP's annual industry sale awards was held on Monday, with Tarkan appearing in two categories - for high song downloads and achieving the Turkish equivalent of platinum status in just seven days of release with album sales for his 2007 album Metamorfoz.

Presented by female singer Kibariye - who duetted with Tarkan in 2006 - the pop artist's platinum sales award was handed over to Samsun Demir, from the album's distributor music label DMC.
On accepting the accolade on behalf of the founders of the music company HITT - Tarkan and Uygar Ataş - Demir explained the artist's absence was because he was in London for his Wembley Arena show.
Female artist Sibel Can, who won an award for her album in the same category, also mentioned Tarkan when she thanked him for his contribution after accepting a trophy on their behalf for the digital sales to their song "Çakmak Çakmak".
