Fifty Thousand Come to See Tarkan
Turkish news agency İhlas Haber Ajansı has reported that fifty thousand people gathered at Erdek to watch the Turkish artist perform live on Saturday (see pic).
The article writes that fifty thousand Tarkan's fans filled the huge arena three hours before the start of the show, and that the Turkish pop artist arrived at the stadium with a special 80-manned crew, with security provided by the local police force and professionals.
Special buses from over eight regions of Turkey travelled to Erdek to watch the music artist perform one of his famed live performances, which has had people fly from all corners of the globe to experience.
Lasting two hours, the news report reveals that the thousands who couldn't get tickets for the show camped outside the stadium and were satisfied to simply hear the singer perform his past and recent hits instead.
Specially invited by the local council of Erdek to give a concert in the hopes to boost domestic tourism in the woodland rich region, there had been criticism directed at the council who had taken the decision to sell tickets for the high-anticipated show, rather than making it a free public concert and letting sponsors pay for the once in a life-time opportunity of seeing Tarkan perform live.
However, even though it wasn't a free concert, Tarkan managed to attract the largest crowds Erdek has seen in a long time.
