Symphonic Songs for Istanbul2010?

Istanbul Time reports that the metropolitan municipality of Istanbul is planning projects to celebrate the countdown to Istanbul becoming a the European Capital of Culture for 2010.

Aiming to focus on the unifying aspects of music, one of these projects for Istanbul2010 might include a joint project with Tarkan, in the form of a special gala and an open air concert of Turkish classic songs recomposed and sang with the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra.
