Ordinary Ink

I am ordinary ink
on God-given ordinary paper:
but the words are

I am written in history.
Write me. Write whatever you know.
Write whatever you want to be.

Fill your cradle.
Let your imagination rock you
with an air that laughs, cries and grows.
Let your words be a seed
that sows a greater harvest
than your hand alone.

Although the ink and the paper be,
never let the words be ordinary.

Let your words stand
in the soil where it became flesh.
Feel the season open its jaws. Ripe.
Bite in and wipe the juice
from your lips.
At night, let the moonlight
reap the words from your head.

With such magic,
make your daily bread.
