Tarkan at New York Fashion Show

Headlines write that the Luca Luca show has been a success

Papers report that Tarkan has been one of the stars to help kickstart New York Fashion Week, along with Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, Charlize Theron and Sarah Jessica Parker who stepped out on Thursday to celebrate New York's first ever Fashion's Night Out event.

The Turkish pop star attended Luca Luca's Spring 2010 fashion show - started by Milan native Luca Orlandi in 1991 - and took pictures with the design label's CEO Yıldız Yüksek Blackstone.

Speaking to the Anadolu News Agency (AA), Tarkan explained that he always visited the design label's shows, but "it's just my luck that it's a rainy day in New York.

"The weather's bad, but I'm in New York on business and for pleasure," the star said.

For its items, which are produced entirely in Italy, some of Luca Luca's famous customers include Beyonce, Sharon Stone, Natalie Cole, Paris Hilton, Ester Canadas, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

New York Fashion Week runs until next Thursday.
