Tarkan News: Report Updates
In a summary update of press news stories and related articles about Tarkan making the print online, first up is a report in the pages of media portal Haberturk claiming that the speculation over next year's Turkish entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest in Norway has been short-listed to three popular names in Turkish rock music, with pop singer, and Tarkan's one-time backing vocalist, Murat Boz dropped from consideration.
Second is the news that celebrity portals are once again throwing up unsubstantiated claims about the multi-award winning recording artist, this time reprinting years old gossip about Tarkan being offered a role in a drama project for Russian TV (see left pic).
Coming on the back of Tarkan's recent three-stop tour of Russia this month, the article has regurgitated - almost word for word - a rumour, doing the rounds since 2004, that Tarkan is being considered for a role in a Russian TV series based on a trash novel by Yulia Shilova, who is famous for demonising Turks in her pulp fiction.
And finally, there is the last minute news that Tarkan might be making his next live performance after his Russian tour on 6 December in aid of a good cause.
At time of writing the report is only being circulated by a gossip portal, which claims that Tarkan is getting ready to perform at a fund-raiser for charity Mika-DER, short for "Minik Kalpler ile El Ele Derneği" (Together with Tiny Hearts Society), for the benefit of young children in care (see left pic).
If initial reports are true, the artist is gearing up to perform at a private event to be held at the luxurious Çırağan Palace Kempinski Hotel in Istanbul.
