In many cases entire towns with Jewish populations were wiped out, with no survivors to bear witness - part of the Nazis' plan for the total annihilation of European Jewry.

The Republic of Ireland currently has strict abortion laws, which only allow a pregnancy to be terminated if there is a serious risk to a woman's life, while in another "rape clause", the deputy leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Jackson Carlaw, has admitted the UK government's policy over exemptions to cuts in child benefits for non-consensual pregnancies is "awkward".
  8. North Korea is "ready to sink" a US aircraft carrier heading for the peninsula, state media have said, as a BBC report shows support for Trump amongst his supporters is stronger than ever.

  10. A burka ban or full veil prohibition on Muslim women is being considered in the UK.
