Tarkan Shortlisted for Golden Gong

With 50 days left, the countdown continues to the Pantene Altın Kelebek Awards (Golden Butterfly Awards) where every year the best of music and TV are put to the public vote.

The shortlist of celebrity nominees has been published, with Tarkan making it into all three relevant categories of Best Male Pop Artist, Best Song and Best Music Video. The Best Song category sees Tarkan nominated for two songs, "Yolla" and "Beni Çok Sev" - a first for an artist.

This year the awards were open to the public to select the shortlist nominees, allowing Tarkan to vye for top place in the best song category with two songs. In previous years, a jury selected the shortlist to be put to the public vote.

Votes can now be cast for a winner until 17 November. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 10 December.

Last year Tarkan accepted an award for Best Project Album for his tribute record to classical Turkish music.
