1. President Donald Trump has rebuked the FBI for missing signals before Wednesday's school shooting in Florida. The agency was "spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign", Mr Trump tweeted.
2. American department store Macy's sparked a fierce debate on Thursday, when it launched a line of "modest clothing" that featured hijabs.
3. The husband of murdered MP Jo Cox has quit two charities he set up in her memory after allegations of sexual assault were made public. Labour MP Mrs Cox was fatally shot and stabbed outside her constituency office in West Yorkshire by a far-right extremist during the EU Referendum campaign in 2016.
4. Harry Potter star Emma Watson has donated £1m to a new campaign aimed at helping those affected by harassment.
5. Driving instructors are being warned that if they have a sexual relationship with a young student it will now be seen as "exploitation".
6. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has sharply rebuked his Polish counterpart for saying that Jews were among the perpetrators of the Holocaust, while also launching a stinging attack on Iran, telling a security conference in Munich it is the "greatest threat to our world".
7. The Israeli military has carried out a number of strikes against Palestinian positions overnight in the Gaza Strip. It is one of the most serious escalations in violence since Israel and Hamas fought a war in 2014.
8. There were no passenger jet crashes in 2017. It was the safest year on record for commercial airlines. There have been two fatal accidents in February, on Russian and Iranian domestic flights.
