Meanwhile, Karsu Dönmez, a Turkish-Dutch singer from Amsterdam, who came to prominence after performances at the Carnegie Hall in New York and several appearances on Dutch television, is in the Turkish press about the last leg of her European Tour in London.

Karsu is said to have sung a repertoire of founder Ahmet Ertegün's label Atlantic Records' best hits, bowing out with Tarkan's "Inci Tanem" (Ölürüm Sana, 1997).

In other news, respected musician Bülent Ortaçgil has criticised rocker Teoman over a collaboration, while praising Tarkan. He says that Tarkan has never asked for a song, but that he wishes there were "ten like him".

"I don't listen to him but I support him," Ortaçgil said.
