The Imperial Edict of Fojnica, issued by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror to grant freedom to Bosnian Franciscans after his conquest of Bosnia Herzegovina, is considered one of the oldest documents issued regarding human rights and freedoms.
