1. Camila Cabello has replied to one of her own tweets from 2012 in which she said she wanted to be at the MTV VMAs - after winning two awards this year. The Havana singer wrote to her past self: "You're not gonna believe this [small] Camila but in 2018 Madonna is going to give you an award for video of the year and your acne will clear."
2. Comedian Jon Stewart has helped rescue two "very baaaaaad" goats who disrupted New York subway tracks mid-morning on Monday.
3. A 45-year-old woman has been killed in an alligator attack on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Witnesses said she was attacked after trying to protect her pet dog from the 8ft (2.4m) alligator. The dog was reportedly uninjured in the incident.
4. Russian attempts to launch cyber-attacks against US conservative groups have been thwarted, Microsoft says.
5. Europe should impose further sanctions on Russia in response to its "malign" behaviour around the world, Jeremy Hunt will say on his first visit to the US as foreign secretary this week.
6. The Guardian says a "resurgence of deadly measles" has been been blamed on low MMR vaccination rates. The paper reports that 41,000 cases of measles have been reported in Europe between January and June. This compares to 24,000 for the whole of last year.
7. One in three men over the age of 50 in the UK have an enlarged prostate. Now a less intrusive treatment is gaining ground using steam.
8. A multi-millionaire catering boss has left a "substantial amount" of money to Oxfam after dying alongside his family in a plane crash. It comes as the charity is facing financial difficulty in the wake of allegations of gross sexual misconduct by staff who hired prostitutes while working in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
9. The female head of the London Fire Brigade has criticised Love Island for reinforcing the cliche of firefighters as muscle-bound male sex objects. Commissioner Dany Cotton said "offensive" stereotypes discouraged young women from joining the service.
10. People who work at and visit Birmingham Prison say the experience on the inside is one of fear, bullying and intimidation, with one person describing it as a "hell hole". Inspectors say the jail is in crisis; so bad that the British government has had to take over its running from a private firm that had been in charge since 2011.
