Cool Tarkan Throwbacks

As Europe finds itself in the grip of a record-breaking heatwave this summer, Tarkan is throwing back his followers to snowy climes to help them "cool down".

Sharing two snaps of himself in a snowy woodland scene yesterday, the megastar wrote that during the hot weather "it would do some good to see snow" to help "cool down".

The Throwback Thursday post attracted over a quarter of a million likes in the first hours of posting.

Throwback Thursday is a popular trend on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, where users post old pictures with the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday or #tbt.

Often the photos predate the era of smartphones and selfies, and exhibit the fading and unique coloration of photos taken with film.

Outdated hairstyles and clothes are common, as are embarrassing school portraits. Throwback Thursday is a way to express nostalgia and revisit fond memories of people, places, and events.

Pop Diva's Tarkan Redo

In a musical throwback, Turkish pop's first lady, Sezen Aksu has released her own demo of Tarkan's 2017 track "Her Şey Fani".

Tarkan released his version of the Aksu penned track on his 2017 album 10, with a remixed version released online by a streaming subscriber sponsor in April this year.

Aksu has been releasing demos of songs she wrote for other singers on her official YouTube account in an online exclusive.

Instead of releasing mastered covers of her songs given to other artists for a third album of an ongoing series, Aksu decided to release the demos online.

The diva explained her reasons in the video blurb as wanting to share the song's vocal purity at inception, before the "urgency to tailor a hit" polished it into the final cut.

A demo (from "demonstration") is a song or group of songs recorded for limited circulation or reference use rather than for general public release, and often used in bootleg versions of records.
