The birth of their daughter has dominated celeb wires in Turkey. An online portal has published an article about the celebrities dominating press space, using figures provided from Turkish news ombudsman Medya Takip Merkezi (MTM).
In MTM's monthly report, the birth of Tarkan's daughter is in the top ten of most reported celebrity news stories for July.
One of Turkey’s biggest pop stars, Tarkan had proudly announced the birth of his first child on social media last month.
He had shared a picture of his newborn daughter pictured in a light blue wrap and a wristband bearing her name and the date she was born with his 3 million followers on Instagram.
Arriving in their lives "like the sun", Liya Tevetoğlu was born on 12 July in Betheanien Hospital, in Moers, Germany.

Tarkan had first announced the news that he was expecting a baby back in February, in response to rumours his wife may be pregnant.
The international pop star had released a much talked about video on social media that confirmed the couple were expecting their first child.
In a 38-second video clip posted on his social media accounts, he had broken his silence to confirm rumours that he and his wife were expecting their first child.
With a beaming face, the star had leaned into the camera to whisper, "Yes it's true. I am going to be a father. It's true."
The multi-million selling hit singer married his long-term secret sweetheart in May 2016. The couple had dated for five years before tying the knot.
