Turn The Page

The dawn of a new year brings many things. Yet, just eleven days down into the Gregorian measurement of the Western world and for some people even New Year's resolutions have come and gone.

As human beings, we find comfort in patterns, in measurements. To tag a journey means that we think less about where we are going and more about how we getting there.

But really, how we measure that journey, what year it really is, doesn't really matter.

Some of us take a journey together, some of us take a journey of one, deep into the home of the heart.

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there. To serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people might be but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Everything happens for a reason.

Sometimes things happen to you and at the time they may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will-power or heart.

Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, love, anger, moments of true greatness and stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul, in your most private and public moments.

Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. Life should be difficult, because difficulties challenge you and make you think.

The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and bad experiences can be good lessons in life.

And as the challenges in life make you grow, the people you meet affect your life, too.

In fact they are probably the most poignant and important elements of your life. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

Do not connect with their negativity. For all that a person says about other people, those comments will stay with the owner at the end of the day. So people must be careful what they say and especially what they say of others, because really it says more about them than anything else.

Don't tarnish your soul, let the music within you stay pure.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to the little things in life.

Because in life's various paradoxes, maybe the most important one is this: the little things are the most important.

Raise your head to the heavens and count the stars. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, every taste, every smell, for you may never experience it again.

Everyday, in every way try and give something back to the world.

Do not look back in anger, look forward with love. People have so much to give in such a short life, however it is measured.

Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free from whatever is holding you back and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.

You belong to the greatest family on this earth. You belong to my family.

Our human family.

In the loving support of this family, tell yourself you are a great individual also, and believe in yourself, for if you don't, no one else will believe in you first.

But most importantly, create your own life then go out and live it.

Everyone who reads this and can understand these sentiments has my support. I am sending out positive thoughts to you all. I want to wish you such great things in your dreams, that every time your head touches the pillow I hope you wake up to the greatest of them coming true.

You are all winners.

Finally, share this with every one whom you believe has made a difference in your life and help make a difference too.
