The Wait is Over

By Teemeah Baksa reporting from Hungary

Tarkan promo photoUniversal Germany's official site for Tarkan has finally opened its doors, along with an English language version.

Including a long overdue official biography, the site provides promotional media such as a picture gallery and a preview of eight tracks from Tarkan's debut English language album Come Closer before its April 7 release.

The Web site also promises to provide details of TV appearances and tour dates.

Meanwhile, Tarkan has appeared on Viva Television in Hungary.

A close friend of Miss Baksa's, Viva VJ Kristóf interviewed Tarkan via phone, where the singer revealed facts about his new album and world tour, and what it was like to work with Italian director Ferzan Özpetek in 2001 for a music video to his Karma album.

Kristóf also interviewed Hungarian musician Levy T (Levente Egry) who had the chance to work with the Turkish pop singer in New York on Tarkan's previous English album project in the late 90s, which Levy admitted had been scrapped. He revealed he still has a copy of the unfinished album and that it had been a pleasure to work with the singer.

For more information on the Hungarian interview, go to the Hungarian Tarkan Fanclub Forum.
