Tarkan gave a spectacular show as he closed the 13th International Love, Peace and Friendship Festival in Karadeniz Ereğli, Turkey on the 9 July. The singer's repertoire included his English and Turkish songs.

Singing to hundreds of thousands of onlookers at the public festival, Tarkan also sang live with female singer Kibariye, appearing on stage during her performance to give a surprise rendition of their duet of a 2003 Tarkan song featured in Kibariye's 2006 album.

Tarkan was greeted more warmly than the Azerbaijani concert and the Ankara public festival, where bottles of water had reportedly been thrown at the music artist by the crowd. At Ereğli, flowers were thrown onto the stage instead.

Tarkan gave a double encore, before bringing the colourful three day festival, credited as the largest festival in Europe, to a close.

"I've never seen such a large crowd anywhere else," Tarkan is reported to have said. "I'll come to Ereğli every year from now on."

The pop star had last appeared at the festival two years ago, when they had a record breaking attendance of 700,000 people.

Karadeniz Ereğli is a city in Zonguldak Province in Turkey on the Black Sea.
