Tarkan in Baku

Preparations for stage construction and lighting took two days to prepare by a team of 35 people, with equipment shipped from Turkey by plane and lorries.
Preparation for that Tarkan performance reportedly took 4 days and was hailed as the largest concert in Azerbaijani history.
Tarkan did not remain in Baku after this year's concert, as he is giving a festival in Turkey's capital today at the Hippodrome (AKM).
He appears in Ankara as the Glocal Forum meetings start today. A mixture of the words "global" and "local" and created in 2001, the Glocal Forum brings together mayors, international organizations and private sector companies to promote its vision of glocalization with dialogue and cultural exchange.
The Fifth Annual Glocalization Conference, "Meeting of Civilizations", is taking place between June 30 - July 3 in Turkey with a record number of delegates from around the world attending the meeting.
Tarkan will generate public awareness and interest by giving a public concert at the opening of the talks.
Before Baku, Tarkan had last appeared in Vienna on 23 June. It was planned that he would appear on stage at Minsk's Dinamo Stadium on the June 28, but organisers in Belarus have stated that due to stadium renovations the concert has been postponed, with a tentative date given for 7 September this year.
