Sacrosanct
I
here:
through this door
you enter my poetry.
here,
no words can be priced
for a sell,
here is truth-telling
territory.
II
here life is sacrosanct
for all the same;
for all, mind you,
not the few:
not just in temples,
but in the very shapes
that word its name,
for life is an indiscriminate floor,
it takes all, not only the true.
III
here life is precious,
this means not just for the Christian,
but the non-believer, too,
here life is for living,
this means no war can give the right
for the Muslim to take life's due,
here life is for all,
not just for the holocaust Jew,
but for the displaced Palestinian
sacrosanct is a word, too.
