Official sources released a press statement yesterday about a song Tarkan has written for nature conservation society, the Doğa Derneği, after the artist spoke about it to reporters on Tuesday and eight days after Tarkan Deluxe first published the news.

Tarkan.com and the Doğa Derneği's official site simultaneously ran the same press statement, which confirmed the existence of a new song from the pop artist in collaboration with lead musician Orhan Gencebay: "Uyan" (Wake Up).

Press ReleaseThe statement writes that Tarkan's music and lyrics and Gencebay's collaboration have become the Doğa Derneği's new voice in their campaign to raise awareness about Turkey's fast disappearing nature and wildlife.

The nature conservation society stresses that Tarkan's song calls for everyone to unite to save the environment from extinction, and hopes that this will spur the public to join their campaign.

The traditional Turkish folk-song type track will be released to the public with the Doğa Derneği's magazine's premier issue on sale at the end of July.
