Tarkan Strips for PETA

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Tarkan on his arrival to Istanbul from the USA, 2009Turkish paper Sabah has reported on the recording artist's return from America, writing that Tarkan told reporters he had stripped for animal rights organisation PETA.

Returning to Turkey with his new, much talked about, haircut in full view, Sabah writes the singer "nicknamed as megastar" left the airport without waiting for his baggage and simply told greeting reporters that he had "stripped and returned".

In an interview with Joshua Katcher for his blog "The Discerning Brute" at New York charity fund raiser last month, Katcher had spoken of Tarkan's collaborations with PETA after the singer had "sworn off" fur.

Tarkan was confronted by PETA in 2008 for wearing fur on the cover of his début English language album, in which Tarkan Deluxe had backed the animal rights' campaign against the star.
