Tarkan: The Most Sought After Star
As Turkish paper Milliyet adds music artist Tarkan to a gallery complied of Turkey's most eligible celebrity bachelors, other papers are reporting on previous reports over what has been labelled as the singer's "exorbitant fee" for his New Year show.
Conforming to type, conflicting rumours are being circulated in the Turkish press on exactly how much the star is reported to have been paid by hotel organisers for their customers to see the new year in with Turkey's global star.
During the traditional run of shows for Turkish singers at the end of year season, while paper Sabah has published an article listing Tarkan as the second highest paid celebrity with a reported figure of £160,000 TL, other reports have placed him firmly at the top of the pile with a much higher quoted sum of £250,000 TL (see left pic).
Meanwhile, other papers have reported the figure in American tender rather than Turkish currency, suggesting that Tarkan had first put his fee as a quarter of a million dollars for the one night show.
Newspaper Haberturk's article claims that Tarkan will be paid $250,000 for his end of year show
For his appearance at the Mardan Palace in Antalya - where tickets will reportedly range from €500 to €1,000 for the best tables to mark the end of a decade with the singer - initial reports had printed that the singer would be earning £150,000 TL for the evening.
The gig is expected to be filled mostly by Russian tourists coming to spend their seasonal winter break in Turkey.
