Twelve Thousand at Tarkan Show

Accounts from local news wires in Istanbul report that 12 thousand people attended Tarkan's shopping mall show - two thousand more than estimated.

Local reports say the concert space set up was as big as the White House, or the size of a football field, at 6,000 sqm, and that Tarkan's stage was 300 sqm, larger than a tennis court.

Lapping up the love from the large crowd, the megastar welcomed his audience at the start of the show, telling the city's residents that he had really missed Istanbul after his recent tour in Europe.

Attending to thousands in his first Turkish show since his German trip, the singer flirted with his fans. "We'll heat up with songs tonight," he said.

Hosting Turkish pop's megastar yesterday evening, major department store Vadistanbul AVM saw thousands dance and sing along with Turkey's beloved music star.

The great store had started a campaign for its customers, where a spending spree of 1,000 TL ($240) won shoppers a free Tarkan ticket.
