Even though both the English and German language sections at the official site for the singer currently report the news that the single will be released in early July, correcting a previous entry, it seems that Urban, a division of Universal Germany, has started accepting orders for the CD, still showing a June 9 release.
On further research with certain contacts, it seems that the confusion in dates is not actually a confusion, but three separate release dates.
Whilst Urban is offering two versions of the CD single, a two track one and a maxi single version, the "Start the Fire" limited edition 12 inch, printed on one-sided red vinyl to symbolise fire, is described as a hip hop flavoured club promo. The record holds three tracks, a Bugati remix of the song, an instrumental version and Tarkan's naked vocals in acapella. Available dates for this record depend on country of release, but range from 30 May to 12 June.
You can listen to samples of the three tracks by clicking here.
A German release date for the single "Start the Fire" has been given as July 7, while it seems that the single will be released in Holland earlier on the 26 June.
We watch the latest developments with interest.
