Pare Pare on MTV and on the Up
Currently, "Pare Pare" has been selected as a strong contender for MTV's video playlist, and has jumped over 90 places from a 111th position to number 18 in the Billboard's Top 20 Turkish charts in one week, while rising to a number 6 place in its second week.
Billboard's ratings unify airplay and sales charts, with airplay figures collected from Nielsen Music Control, the world respected research media company that monitors radio and TV stations across Turkey.
"Pare Pare": Making the Video
MTV Türkiye's cameras joined Tarkan to capture behind the scenes footage of the filming to his second music video "Pare Pare", which included shots and wardrobe changes that didn't make the final edit.
"Making the Video" also spoke with the crew and the star during the filming and aired the resulting reports along with light-hearted and humorous moments with the artist as he worked with the director and crew.
In addition to a short chat with Tarkan on his thoughts behind the video and the song, the show aired revealing sound bytes from the director Altan Dönmez, Tamer Çınarcık (effects editor), Matthew Erdem (keyboard), Alp Ersönmez (bass guitar), Erhan Kurtcebe (light technician), Yıldırım Özdemir (hair stylist) and Neriman Eroğuz (make-up).

Reports with the Crew
Taking on the role of director of photography and principal director, Dönmez talked about the concept behind the video, describing it as a concert rehearsal, though the final version is of an artist in reflection during the wrap up of a show.
Utilising a motion control system, and with a lot of post-production montage work, the video is centred on Tarkan's performance. "With powerful songs there's no need to confuse people, Tarkan's energy and the song's power is enough to convey the meaning," Dönmez said.
Meanwhile, as most of the crew described working with Tarkan as someone who makes everyone want to do their best, editor Çınarcık revealed the more technical side of the video. Describing in length a process measuring over 40 hours, Çınarcık explained the incorporation of two different motion control recordings, with Tarkan filmed in real time while the background was recorded on a faster time line.
With the Turkish subsidiary of the US music station, MTV Türkiye, deciding to host the Turkish pop artist on "Making the Video", Tarkan has become the first Turkish singer to appear on MTV's show.
First broadcast in 1999, the popular slot chronicles the process of filming a music video, which always concludes with a première of the finished piece.
