Struck by Tarkan

Vahapoğlu describes the auditorium as packed full of people, and that she had not seen Tarkan so energetic and alive for a long time, reporting that the pop star had mentioned on stage how hyperactive he was feeling.
Citing this as a "return to form" of his younger days, the columnist praises Tarkan's dancing as well as his singing, and that he drove everyone wild.
Sitting in the VIP sections with other celebrities that had attended that evening's performance, Vahapoğlu also mentions how a national celeb football player kept turning to her to say that he was so "struck by Tarkan" - noting that, "male or female, it doesn't matter, everyone is in love" with the Turkish pop artist.
Meanwhile another Takvim article, headlined "He isn't a megastar for nothing" (11 August 2008), claims that Tarkan has undergone a "metamorphosis" of character. Distinct from his musical counterparts, he is no longer unapproachable and always prepared to mix and spend time with the Turkish public, and that wherever he has travelled to sing this summer the Turkish pop singer has generated huge audiences.
And finally, Turkish news portal Gazeteport writes that Italian tenor Alessandro Safina - known for his powerful, smooth voice, as well as his onstage charisma - has revealed his desire to "belly dance" with Turkish pop singer Tarkan.
