Talking Tarkan in the Columns
In an echo to previous news last month, an editor of a news portal for the Turkish province of Kocaeli calls for Tarkan to participate in a local festival, as Akşam journalist Yiğit Karaahmet - now out of jail - talks Tarkan again (see left pic).
While İsmet Çiğit, editor of local online newspaper Özgür Kocaeli calls the local government to get Tarkan to perform at an important festival in the region, Akşam journalist Karaahmet has another article printed in his employer paper, where he takes the chance to take another dig at Tarkan.
Karaahmet doesn't focus on Tarkan as much as he did when in jail, but mentions the singer once again, comparing the "soft treatment" the artist reportedly had whilst in custody to his own experiences in his recent post.
"While I was in police custody I did nothing but sleep. Because I wasn't Tarkan they didn't give me the slightest small thing to entertain myself with," he writes.
The Akşam journalist had sent letters to the media where he talked about the injustice done to him by comparing his situation with that of Tarkan's time spent in custody.
