Press Snippets: Taking Digs With Tarkan

A correspondent writing for the celebrity section of news portal Blick in Switzerland has taken a dig at Latin star Ricky Martin and his recent statement on his homosexuality, while mentioning Turkish megastar Tarkan, too.

Written amongst names such as Whitney Houston and Tiger Woods, the acidic celebrity columnist quips: "I congratulate Ricky for publicly accepting what the world had known for years. Now I ask you to call Tarkan and give him tips ... on how you don't need a foreskin to come out".

Meanwhile in Turkey, left-wing paper Radikal's Kaan Sezyum has taken at dig at the new leader of a Turkish political opposition party whose previous leader had resigned due to a sex tape scandal.

"I have designs for [him] to meet his party members with Tarkan's "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike")," he writes flippantly.
