Tarkan Set to Stamp His Mark
Paper Milliyet has reported on Tarkan's 11 May 2010 song "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike") as an indicator that Tarkan is set to put his stamp on the music out this summer in the Turkish market.
Writing that the song was played across 15 major radio stations at the same time on 11 May at 5 o'clock in the afternoon local Turkish time, it also states that the song quickly became the most shared across social networking groups.
Tarkan fan and popstress Demet Akalın was a guest on Istanbul FM during that time. She announced the song and wished Tarkan every success as his song played, Milliyet writes.
The article also lists eight names in the radio industry, with all unified in praise for Tarkan.
Praise from the Rado Sector
Hakan Eren (Radyo D): This time I'm saying Tarkan's done it. I really liked it.
Emel Yalçın (singer, ex-radio presenter): This summer is Tarkan's, commiserations to the rest. It just reeks of Tarkan this song. Tarkan is the undisputed sound of Turkish pop music. His every album is met with high expectations, and the expectations for this album are high, too. But I'm sure he's going to exceed them.
Gürdal Çakır (Istanbul FM controller): With lyrics by Aysel Gürel, music by Tarkan and arrangements by Ozan Çolakoğlu coming together, what has come out is a song that seems ordinary at first, but is really just as extraordinary. It can be described as a "sleeper hit" from an album that is worthy of megastar quality.
Hilal Özgani (Radyo Mega controller): It's like Tarkan is saying "get out the way, I'm back..." He is back to his old manner, his old taste and he's "Tarkan" again. In one word it's amazing, and it really affected me.
Özlem Gizli (Süper FM): This new song has really got me excited. Simply put, there's a lot of Tarkan's magic in the song.
Çağla Aktay Topel (Radyo Viva): Love's Last Strike strikes with its lyrics. Tarkan is one of those rare people born with a star quality that shines.
Olcay Tanberken (Radyo Klas): It looks like Tarkan is not going to disappoint like he did with Metamorfoz, I found the song exciting and a success.
Sibel Tüzün (singer): The lyrics, the song is great, but I prefer Tarkan's hot, honest voice without so much technical input, I want to hear him breathe. Ultimately he's a really good singer. I believe we're going to hear a beautiful, enjoyable album.
