Tarkan is Number 1 at Sponsor Station
After securing the two number one spots in major Turkish music station Kral's radio and video charts last week, Tarkan continues to hold both top positions for a second week with his 2010 album teaser track "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike").
Tarkan's music company HITT is organising its 6th annual summer open air concerts at the Harbiye in Istanbul under the sponsorship of Kral this year, set to kick-start with a scheduled performance by Tarkan on 31 July.
Tarkan in Nation's Top 10
Meanwhile, according to figures published by Kral's top ten of the nation for this week, Tarkan has held the number one spot across national radio stations for most airplay in Turkey for the fourth week running, but slips one place as the third most listened to artist by local radio stations across Turkey from second place this week.
And Tarkan's track has held on to its number three position in its third week in the digital sales chart after entering in at fourth place two weeks ago, when Turkish digital sales platforms, such as TTNetMuzik, made the song available for purchase.
Kral's national top ten lists the ten most listened to artists in Turkey for that week according to airplay popularity by national and local radio stations overall, including hard copy and digital sale figures.
Tarkan's chart success is remarkable in that the singer has no album released as yet, and that his album teaser track is competing with artists with official releases active in promoting their own works.
Nielsen: Tarkan in Top 5 for Sixth Week
The Nielsen ratings monitor music broadcast on over 700 radio and television stations across 18 countries worldwide, and is regarded as a good indicator of the current share of radio airplay in the registered country.
