The Story of Living Things
![]() |
Once upon a time trees were held holy. Nature held in reverence. For wisdom, we looked to the tree. For courage, to the mountain. For beauty, to the flowering fields of spring. For sustenance, to the resilience of the river and all the living things contained within it.
In tribute to that divinity we would treat the world as we hoped to treat each other, with love, respect and kindness. We gave as we took, and we nourished what gave us nourishment in return. We replaced what was taken and we reaped what was sown.
Thus the story of nature is our own story of loves and woes, for it is the story of all living things, spoken and unspoken, breathing out the gift of life given to us all.
The story of living things as they happen is the story of living things as they breathe...
