Turkish Press Plays Catch up with Tarkan
Today the Turkish press have woken up to that fact and have begun reporting that over two thousand tickets for Tarkan's concert in Kyrenia were sold in one day on the southern part of the divided island of Cyprus.
Commercials have also begun running in the internationally recognised republic of Cyprus, alongside commercials in Turkey.
However, Turkish TV channels have seen fit to run these commercials outside of primetime and in the early hours of the morning.
After having last been in this part of the world eight years ago, Tarkan is finally back in northern Cyprus on the first leg of his international tour, for a sell-out concert following the release of his debut English language album.
Life in Cyprus has come to a standstill. Everyone is waiting for Tarkan to arrive.
